A Tragic Accident—or Something More?

A tragic night in Parika Backdam has left a family searching for answers after 33-year-old security guard Amarnaauth “Malik” Seodat lost his life in a motorcycle crash—or what his father believes was something far more sinister.

Malik was reportedly riding at high speed around 9:30 p.m. when he swerved to avoid a sand heap and lost control. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

His father, Doodnauth Seodat, isn’t convinced that his son’s death was an accident. The police stated that Malik wasn’t wearing a helmet and suffered head injuries. However, his father noticed inconsistencies—Malik was bleeding from his ears and mouth, not his nose. “If he had head injuries, he would have bled through his nose,” he said.

Then there’s the helmet. Malik had left home wearing it, yet it was later found in a resident’s yard near the scene. His father couldn’t understand how it ended up there. He also observed that one of his son’s pockets was pulled out, leading him to suspect robbery.

When he arrived at the scene, his son had already been taken to the hospital, but videos and photos raised even more questions. The motorcycle had only minor scratches, far less damage than expected in a high-speed crash. And his son’s body was found a significant distance from the sand heap, making the explanation of him losing control seem unlikely.

Seodat strongly believes his son was attacked. He pointed out additional injuries—a wound to Malik’s right ear and a deep gash on his lower right side. “These injuries aren’t from a crash. He was struck with something—maybe a piece of wood,” he insisted.

Determined to get answers, he demonstrated how the attack could have happened while police revisited the scene, taking measurements and speaking with residents. Some locals expressed suspicions as well, believing people in the area may know more about what really happened.

Seodat is now waiting for the post-mortem results, hoping they will confirm what he already suspects—that his son’s death wasn’t just a tragic accident, but something far more deliberate.
